Gregory R. Giometti founded this firm on October 6, 2006, and was a shareholder of the firm until December 31, 2024.  Mr. Giometti remains active at the firm as Of Counsel.

Mr. Giometti is an AV Preeminent Rated™ civil litigation attorney, with 42 years of experience, including approximately 80 civil jury trials in Colorado courts since 1989.  More than 25 of those cases involved claims of insurance bad faith.  During the past three decades, Mr. Giometti has published many legal treatises and articles and has been a speaker at 49 continuing legal education programs.  Since 2004, Mr. Giometti has been actively involved in the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee (ICLC) of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS).  From August of 2022 to August of 2023, Mr. Giometti served as the ICLC’s chairperson.

Currently, the primary focus of Mr. Giometti’s professional work is providing expert witness consultation services regarding insurance industry standards in insurance bad faith litigation.  Mr. Giometti is highly experienced in evaluating coverage issues and compliance with claim handling standards under many types of policies, including commercial general liability (CGL), commercial property, business owners, commercial auto, garage liability, personal auto, uninsured/underinsured motorist, and homeowners’ policies. Mr. Giometti also provides expert witness testimony regarding the reasonableness of incurred litigation costs.

Based upon his publications and speaking engagements, Mr. Giometti is also considered to be one of the leading authorities regarding the handling of claims and litigation under the Colorado Wrongful Death Act, C.R.S. § 13-21-201 et seq.

Mr. Giometti’s legal writings include four books published by Continuing Legal Education in Colorado, Inc., the non-profit educational arm of the Colorado Bar Association:

• Handbook of Colorado Wrongful Death Law (5th Ed.  2024).

• Colorado Automobile Accident Litigation & Insurance Handbook (3rd Ed. 2018); and

From 1997 to 2022, Mr. Giometti was the author of the Evidence Chapter, for the Annual Survey of Colorado Law.
